We’re Making a Brighter Future Together

There is a shortage of high-quality ASL resources for parents.
According to, “about 90% of the deaf population has two hearing parents and 88% of those parents do not know sign language.” This is heartbreaking. Deaf kids who don’t share a language with their parents have a harder time forming healthy family relationships. They also have a harder time in school.

It doesn’t have to be this way.
At the Signing Time Foundation, our mission is to share ASL with all families, especially those who need it most: hearing parents of a deaf child. It’s why we’re creating Sign It ASL.

Sign It ASL is an American Sign Language curriculum that when completed will include 50 lessons.
Sign It ASL is delivered entirely online, and it is free of charge to families living in the U.S. who have a child with any level of hearing loss ages 36 months and under.

Each unit includes 5 lessons. Each lesson contains approximately 90 minutes of content.

Units 1, 2, and 3 are available now. We are currently working to fund units 4-10.

Production cost is $50,000 per lesson; $250,000 for each 5 lesson unit. To maximize economy of scale we fund and then produce 5 lessons of Sign It ASL at a time.

Total costs for 50 lessons in 10 units – $2,500,000
